Privacy policy

This policy explains the information FiVue uses to run your account and financial planning workspace.

Information we use

  • Account information: your email address, name or display name, account settings, membership status, and account creation dates. If you set a FiVue password, we store a password hash rather than the password itself.
  • Planning information: the income, spending, assets, debts, goals, assumptions, scenarios, and setup answers you enter. We use this information to save your work and calculate the projections you request.
  • Sign-in and security information: session dates, browser user-agent information, sign-in and password-reset activity, and account activity. Requests also include network information such as your IP address, which is used for abuse prevention and request handling.
  • Billing information, if you use paid checkout: your Paddle customer and subscription identifiers, selected price, subscription status and billing dates, and a record of the purchase wording and time you agreed. FiVue does not receive full card numbers.
  • Support messages: information you choose to send when asking for help. Please avoid including passwords, sign-in links, or unnecessary financial details.

FiVue beta uses information to provide the service, maintain account access, protect accounts, and respond to support requests. You enter financial information yourself; the beta does not connect to banks or brokerages. When paid checkout is available, Paddle processes payments.

Service providers and Google sign-in

  • Cloudflare hosts FiVue and its database, including saved accounts and plans, and processes requests needed to deliver and protect the site.
  • Resend delivers account verification, sign-in, and password-reset emails. It receives the destination email address and message content, including the temporary link needed for that request.
  • Google is an optional sign-in provider. When you choose it, FiVue requests basic identity information: your name, email address, and Google account identifier. FiVue stores the identifier and email to recognize the linked account. It does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or contacts. FiVue does not send your financial plan to Google as part of sign-in or retain Google access or refresh tokens.
  • Paddle handles optional paid checkout, subscriptions, receipts, payment support, and refunds as merchant of record. FiVue shares your verified account email and the purchase information needed to pair and manage your membership. Paddle receives payment and billing information directly through its checkout. FiVue does not send your saved financial plan to Paddle as part of checkout.

These providers also handle information under their own policies: Cloudflare privacy policy, Resend privacy policy, Google privacy policy, and Paddle privacy policy. FiVue’s operator may access service records when necessary to maintain the service, investigate a problem, or respond to your request.

Cookies and information on your device

FiVue uses cookies to keep you signed in and protect email and Google sign-in flows. Temporary sign-in cookies help associate a request with the browser that started it.

Browser local storage saves your appearance and display preferences, intended plan selection, and local copies of planning work for draft recovery and undo. These copies can contain financial information and may remain on a device after you sign out. Use a trusted device, and clear FiVue site data in your browser when you want to remove local copies. Clearing site data can also remove unsaved work.

Your data, exports, and deletion

You can edit your planning inputs and display name in FiVue. The planner can export a PDF, Excel workbook, or JSON backup. Account → Your data provides an archive of server-saved account and planning information. The account archive does not include Paddle’s payment records or FiVue’s separate purchase-agreement and subscription records; contact support for billing information. It also excludes passwords, live sign-in credentials, shared abuse-prevention records, infrastructure logs, and unsaved drafts on other devices.

You can delete an eligible personal account from Your data after signing in again and confirming deletion. This removes the account and its owned planning, settings, session, linked-identity, and authentication records from FiVue’s active database. Owner accounts require an ownership transfer before deletion. Accounts with billing records require support-assisted deletion after billing is reconciled. Deleting a FiVue account is separate from canceling a subscription; contact us if self-service deletion is unavailable.

Server-saved account and planning data is kept while your account remains open. Expired sign-in records and older abuse-prevention counters are periodically cleaned up. Account deletion does not remove files you downloaded or local copies on other devices. Infrastructure logs, email delivery records, and provider backups may remain until they expire under the relevant provider’s retention practices.

Billing and purchase-agreement records may be retained separately to operate memberships, resolve disputes, and meet applicable accounting and legal obligations. Paddle maintains its own payment records under its privacy policy. Contact us about access or deletion of billing records; we will explain any records that must be retained.

You can also remove FiVue’s connection from your Google Account settings. Removing that connection does not by itself delete your FiVue account or saved plans.
